CHARITY DONATIONS

Each year, over 37 millions Americans make charitable donations. Although over 70% of donations are cash, a growing percentage of people are choosing to donate a car, rather than selling it used. Donating a car or other vehicle to a charitable organization is a great way to feel great about making a contribution, while also earning a great tax deduction. Although you should always check with an accountant, most car donations are tax deductible. For many, this is a great way to get rid of older autos that might not sell well to a car dealer or private party. Car donations can often times prove to generate more value, while also helping a charity in need. Auto donations are used by charities to generate cash for their organizations by then selling (below book value normally) the car you have donated. A growing number of charities accept automobile donations today.
